Can AI Trust Your Service Page? 6 Proof Signals
A short six-point test for making your service page clearer, more credible and easier for customers and AI search systems to understand.
A trustworthy service page clearly states what you do, who you help, how the work happens and what evidence supports your claims. AI systems may retrieve this information, but the same proof also helps a busy customer decide whether to contact you.
No page can force ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, Qwen or Google AI to recommend a business. You can, however, remove ambiguity and provide facts that are easier to verify.
1. A precise service statement
Your first paragraph should answer three questions: What do you provide? Who is it for? What problem does it solve?
Weak: “We deliver innovative digital solutions.”
Clear: “We help B2B software companies improve how their services are understood and represented in AI-powered search.”
Google recommends useful, original content instead of generic information that could come from anyone.
2. A defined customer and scope
Name the industries, company types or situations you serve. Explain what is included, what is optional and what is outside the engagement.
Clear boundaries build trust. They also reduce the chance that a search or AI system connects your company with a service you do not provide.
3. A visible method
Do not stop at “we get results.” Show the steps.
For example:
Assessment, research, implementation, validation and monitoring. Add a short explanation of the deliverable at each stage. A named process makes your service easier to compare and gives the customer a realistic picture of the work.
4. First-hand evidence
Use proof that belongs to your business: a case study, before-and-after example, anonymized finding, sample deliverable, original screenshot or clearly explained lesson from client work.
Include context. State what was measured, the period covered and any limitation. Google’s people-first content guidance asks whether a page demonstrates first-hand expertise, clear sourcing and information about who created it.
5. A real identity behind the claim
Show the company name, team or author responsible for the service. Link to a useful About page and provide accurate contact information.
Organization structured data can help Google understand administrative details and distinguish one organization from another, but the markup must match the visible page. It does not guarantee visibility or a recommendation.
6. Consistent outside confirmation
Check whether your main facts agree across your website, business profiles, industry directories, interviews and reputable third-party mentions. Correct old names, descriptions, locations and offers.
Do not buy fake mentions or copy reviews onto pages where they cannot be verified. Strong corroboration is accurate, relevant and earned.
The 30-second service-page test
A busy reader should quickly find:
1. The exact service
2. The intended customer
3. The problem being solved
4. The delivery method
5. Evidence from real work
6. The responsible company or expert
7. A clear next step
If any answer is missing, improve that section before publishing more content.
How do you make the page discoverable?
Keep the important explanation in readable page text. Make sure the URL is crawlable, indexable, internally linked and included in your sitemap.
OpenAI says public sites can appear in ChatGPT search and recommends allowing OAI-SearchBot when publishers want their content discovered, cited and linked. Google says its generative AI features still depend on core Search systems and indexed, useful pages.
How do you measure progress?
Track traditional search impressions, qualified visits, contact-form completions and assisted conversions. Test a fixed set of customer questions across AI tools where web search is available, recording whether your business is absent, mentioned, cited and described accurately.
Bing’s AI Performance report can show citation activity and the pages or grounding-query themes associated with supported Microsoft AI experiences. Bing also warns that citations are not rankings, clicks or proof of authority.
Can proof signals guarantee an AI recommendation?
No. AI answers vary by platform, prompt, location, model and time. Proof signals improve clarity and verifiability; they do not control the final answer.
